See, what we need to do is promote him. Move him up to the state legislature, where he's in too big a pool to do much damage.

I'm not saying I love the legislature, either. As a matter of fact, I hope Steve Kagen somehow pulls it out so that John Gard can no longer collect a paycheck at my expense. I'm just pointing out that Gov. Doyle is trying to wrap himself in a cloak of respectability by touting how he's so pro-family, pro-children, pro-every-person, and it has no substance. More than a couple of my friends work for the University system, and they despise him. I'm merely trying to show my solidarity with their opinions. Honestly, if anyone put forth a worthwhile candidate, I'd vote for them in a heartbeat, but to me, as it stands it's the lesser of two evils.

Well... Here's the problem.
Not a big fan of Jim Doyle. Don't think anyone IS, honestly.
But what's my alternative? I work for the University. The republican legislature has made damn clear that they don't even understand what a uni is FOR, much less how it works or the basic principles of Academic freedom, so my alternative is...?
